Cheryl M. Leslie, RN, MPH
Director of Client Education & Support
Cheryl is heading up OMNI’s Client Education and Support Division. A critical function of this group is to track regulatory changes for physician and out patient services in order to anticipate the impact on the medical practice. Cheryl provides consultation services to OMNI’s clients post-implementation which includes troubleshooting problems with operations and workflow. Cheryl also heads up OMNI’s corporate compliance team. Additionally, Cheryl’s group develops and implements individual training plans for new clients.
Cheryl’s career has been focused on reimbursement, regulatory affairs and quality management. She was an executive manager for Masonicare Integrated Health Network, the largest home health agency in New England, providing $60MM for comprehensive home and community based services serving 15,000 patients annually. Her responsibilities included: reimbursement/utilization management for Medicare and Medicaid services, corporate compliance program management, risk management for self-insured general liability and Workman’s Compensation programs with an average daily census of 3,500 patients and 1,500 employees.
Cheryl has 25 years of experience with upper management operations, regulatory and corporate compliance, and merger/acquisition due diligence reviews; Medicare/Medicaid utilization management, and Medicare coverage and appeals, including the new CMS expedited appeal systems and HCFA Operation Restore Trust. She has had numerous clients nationwide that have used her talent and expertise.
In addition, Cheryl managed the training and education and all staff development of clinical and back office personnel; developed a distant learning program and on-line curriculum. She developed business plans for numerous organizations including one for an agency’s first utilization management program managing a daily census of 1,000 Medicare beneficiaries and 1,000 Medicaid recipients.
Cheryl holds a B.S. in Nursing from the University of North Carolina and a M.P.H. from the University of Connecticut.
